Our Story

Face Formula, formerly know as Elixir Cosmeceuticals, is a Norwegian skincare brand built on 18 years of clinical expertise.

Our journey began in Oslo in 2008 with a very real need.

One of our founders, Kristine Borge,
was struggling with her skin. Through her own search for solutions, she
was introduced to a set of advanced skincare formulations that had not
yet been developed into finished products. Curious about their
potential, she shared them with her friend Marianne Fjørtoft, a trained skin therapist.

Together,
they tested the formulations, studied the effects, and were struck by
the results. What began as curiosity quickly turned into a shared
ambition: to develop these formulations into skincare that could be used
consistently, safely, and made accessible to others facing similar skin
challenges.

At the time, the skincare market offered few good
alternatives. Products were either cosmetic and surface-level, or
prescription-based and difficult to access. Kristine and Marianne saw an
opportunity to bridge that gap with skincare grounded in science, yet
designed for everyday use, effective, trustworthy, and easy to live
with.

That ambition became Elixir Cosmeceuticals, one of the first Norwegian brands to introduce active-ingredient skincare.

From
the beginning, the work was hands-on. They collaborated closely with
clinics, treated clients directly, and used before-and-after skin scans
to understand exactly what worked, and what didn’t. Progress was
measured in results, not promises.

Trust was built over time.
Clients saw change. Clinics shared their confidence. The brand grew
organically across Norway and Sweden.

But as skin science evolved, so did we, and the brand became more than its name and identity could fully express.

The formulas grew more advanced than many realised. The thinking
evolved from cosmeceuticals to a deeper focus on skin longevity. The
brand was deeply Norwegian, yet that heritage wasn’t always visible. And
while it was known for being human, trustworthy, and results-driven,
the brand identity no longer reflected the full picture.

The evolution into Face Formula was therefore not about changing who we are.

It was about letting the outside finally match the inside.

Skin
health runs deeper than what you see. It is shaped by biology,
environment, age, stress, and lifestyle. Today, our focus is on
supporting the skin’s natural intelligence, strengthening function,
balance, and resilience over time.

This long-term perspective is known as skin longevity.

And it defines everything we do.

In 2025, we became Face Formula.

Not a reinvention.

Not a reset.

A clearer name for who we are today, and a wider vision for the future of skincare.
